Last week, Donald Trump, the President of the United States and overall idiot, attacked four Democratic Congresspeople in vile, racist ways. He reveled in getting his crowd to change “Send her back.” His goal was to make a distraction, and his nonsense worked like a champ. It captured the news cycle, and he rolled in glee. Then he denied it to the press, lying about his reaction. That lie captured the press again. Then Trump caved and told the truth. The news followed every motion. And then he doubled down.

You get the drift. Trump wanted to distract us from the Mueller hearings in the House. Anyone remember that, or kids in cages, or the convictions, or Trump’s open criminality, or AG Barr’s perjury, or any of the rest? We focused on Trump’s overt racism and anti-American rhetoric.

Except Mueller didn’t testify last week. At the last minute, Mueller delayed his testimony a week. Oopsie. Mueller will still testify before two House committees tomorrow, but in exchange for the delay, he agreed to longer questioning. Double-oopsie for Trumpie. Both committee hearings will be open sessions, broadcast live around the world. Triple-oopsie and quadroopsie.

I wonder what Trump will do for his next distraction? It’ll have to be big.
