This’ll be short.  The indictment of Maria Butina outlines ties between Russia, the NRA, and the GOP.  That goes along with recently disclosed ties between Russia, Evangelical leaders, and the GOP.  If true, it helps explain the multi-million dollar surge in NRA political funding.  Is this really the criminal enterprise it looks like?

The NRA is the biggest Republican political contributor.  Evangelicals and gun rights people are some of the biggest Republican political groups.  These groups form the core base of the GOP, a party that cannot find the spine to criticize Russia in any meaningful way.

Everyone deserves a chance to tell their side of any story, but honestly?  Nathan an I have been calling the GOP a criminal enterprise for a while.  This is more of the same, but with better detail.  If corruption starts with the ‘appearance of impropriety,’ we’re already well past that.
