I’ve just written and (thankfully) deleted three blog posts. No, I’m not burdening you with more stories about Republican liars. You can thank me if you want.
Here’s what’s giving me trouble:
hy·poc·ri·sy
/həˈpäkrəsē/, noun
the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one’s own behavior does not conform; pretense.
We don’t care about Republican liars anymore, much less their hypocrisy. Hell, even I was bored, and I was writing them.
This should be easy, right? Look through the moral dilemmas from any of Trump’s declarations, and you see streams of purportedly moral Republicans ignoring every principle they’ve shrieked for the past eight years to explain why, against all reason, it’s hunky-dory in this case because it was a Republican breaking the rule.
Nobody cares. It’s already built into the public perception. Hell, working-class people elected Trump knowing he was a lying sack of shit (I’m paraphrasing the polls a little there) just on the hope he’d be a change agent.
Really. Everyone is that desperate to find someone who’ll shake things up. Me, too.
Yo! Democrats! Does anyone feel like addressing that gap? Want to explain how you can change the increasingly crooked and rigged game that we don’t want to be playing anymore? Feel like coughing up that better answer for what we want for our children?
Hello?
