Devin Nunes is Still a Liar

It’s all about power. Every politician knows the facts on paper; nobody is on the cusp. For Republicans the question is simpler: will Americans let them get away with it?
President Trump’s Senate trial has started, and Sen. McConnell has already declared the result. Bad start.
Trump committed acts of war against Iran to distract us from his impeachment. Now the Iranians have struck Americans. What will the Mad King do next?
Republicans aren’t just corrupt; they’re creating a Jim Crow trial obscenity. White racist guys swearing they’ll acquit the white racist guy. Forget any facts or testimony. The fix is already in.
Republicans subject us to mind-numbing impeachment nonsense: the process sucks, the witnesses are unreliable, “Dems are SO UNFAIR!”, yadda, yadda. But they haven’t coughed up anything to show the charges aren’t true. That’s what ‘undisputed’ means.
Devin Nunes was completely tangled in the Ukraine scandal, lied about it, and was too stupid to realize when he’d been caught. We knew he was an idiot and Trump’s personal proctologist. And now we find that Nunes has been lying the whole time to boot.
Ambassador Sondland’s testimony hasn’t aged well. Yes, Sondland called out some of Trump’s Ukrainian deals, but he backed off of others. In full scumbag mode, Sondland described a Sept. phone call where Trump insisted “No quid pro quo!” and other purported virtues. And it didn’t take long before that story got shopworn.
On Nov 17th, President Trump visited doctors suddenly. In today’s tribal groupthink, we can be vicious animals at the scent of blood. We’ve forgotten the essential ethics: we at 3SR wish Trump good health and hope that this event will be resolved easily.
Is anyone really surprised that Rep. Devin Nunes is involved in Trump’s Ukraine extortion scandal? Or that he didn’t disclose it? We already know Devin is a Trump toady and a proven liar.
To honor the International day condemning Violence Against Women, Spain’s far-right Vox party called for repealing existing anti-violence laws. Like U.S. Republicans, they see men hurting women as an important part of their cultural heritage.
Ambassador Gordon Sondland is impressive, smarter than many people in the room. He’s still a scumbag spit-bucket of a lawyer, but Jesus, I sit here in awe. Sondland makes his threats indirectly but clearly: I’m not going down alone.
Still watching Sondland’s testimony. It’s entertaining. He’s twisting around, denying his own involvement while ratting out all his friends. Whatever else, HE’S not going to jail. So far, Sondland’s testimony has been lawyerly, but I mean that in the absolutely worst way.
Rep. Adam Schiff has impressed me with his forthright leadership during the Impeachment. And yet, somehow, he’s left me sympathetic to Ambassador Gordon Sondland. That’s a pretty decent achievement, given that Sondland is, by all counts, a lying, self-serving, boot-licking scumbag minion.
Why did so many people in the House Intelligence Committee ask Ambassador Yovanovitch about her feelings? The Committee didn’t spend much time on Ambassador William Taylor’s emotions. But maybe we should. I found the Ambassador’s emotional reactions powerfully compelling.
As the Impeachment hearings get underway, I’m watching the Republicans. They spend half their time in tentative legal counterarguments and half pontificating on nonsense. Both were a thin gruel of out-of-scope conspiracies and straight-up lying. Why don’t Republicans have counterarguments or exculpatory witnesses? They can’t find anyone to speak in their behalf.
Trump may try another government shutdown to get his metaphorical Wall made real. Why? It hasn’t worked out well in the past for either party. I go through the past shutdowns for entertainment. Did you know there’s one where everyone just forgot?
Trump is being impeached because he asked a foreign power for a personal benefit. Republicans counter there was no quid pro quo, which is a separate offense, and a deliberate distraction. And a lie, it turns out. It’s hard not to take satisfaction at how the Republicans, dealers in bad faith, were so quickly caught out in this particular lie.
