This, I think, is an excellent analogy:
This impeachment trial is becoming like a Jim Crow trial. Deep down everyone knows everything. Everyone knows the racist defendant is guilty. Everyone knows the all-White jury is going to quickly acquit. Everyone knows the exonerated defendant will continue to break the law. https://t.co/wIb3a3Zcmf

Mitch McConnell was just as… emphatic.
So, we have white racist men saying upfront that they won’t convict the white racist criminal, no matter what. They don’t want any more facts. No evidence. Why? Because more facts won’t matter. And no witnesses. Because witnesses might talk about new stuff. And the corrupt Republicans very much oppose any chance of disclosing new crimes. It’s almost as if they knew there was more criminality to find.
And Rudy Giuliani just returned from committing more crimes in Ukraine. Trump is committing more of the same crimes that triggered his impeachment. And nobody in authority in the Republican party – not Trump, McConnel, or Graham – is bothered by this.
Yeah, that sounds like a Jim Crow trial. Republicans always accuse everyone else of the crimes they commit.
