I can’t help but wonder why the New York Times decided to deliver a tailor-made dirty trick against Robert Mueller. Just as Doug Jones wins his election in Alabama, the Times reported “In Texts, F.B.I. Officials in Russia Inquiry Said Clinton ‘Just Has to Win’“. From somewhere, they got copies of the texts between Agent Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. Because of those texts, Mueller removed Agent Strzok from his team last summer.
The times got the texts from… somewhere unspecified. The Times announced the original story on December 2nd, but for whatever reason, posted a big new ‘expose’ just this evening.
[Peter Strzok] told a colleague that Hillary Clinton “just has to win” and described a potential Trump victory as “terrifying,” according to texts released Tuesday night….Some messages criticized Mrs. Clinton’s team, the Obama administration, Congress and other Democrats. But the two appeared appalled at some of Mr. Trump’s comments during the campaign and feared that he would politicize the F.B.I. For example, after Mr. Trump made an apparent sexual allusion related to the size of his hands, Ms. Page wrote: “This man cannot be president.” In another exchange, Mr. Strzok wrote of a potential Trump presidency, “I’m scared for our organization.” He also referred to Mr. Trump as an “enormous douche.” The messages were turned over to Congress and obtained by The New York Times….
Their release is certain to fuel suspicion among Republicans that the investigation into connections between the Trump campaign and Russia was politically motivated from the beginning.

Really? Is this what passes for breaking news?
First, is the timing of the release especially hard to decipher? I wonder where they got it from?
Second… um… so what’s the big deal, again? Strzok texted criticisms of Clinton, Obama and Trump. He was especially critical of Trump, and he worried that the Orange Meanie would politicize the F.B.I.
And we all know that would never happen!
Anyway, the texts, written before Strzok was a lead on the Mueller investigation, are now a crime so heinous he had to be transferred into HR, and which now make him… I don’t know, unsuitable for decent company? I’m not sure what the big scoop is supposed to be. He had opinions? The fiend!
I’m sorry, but it isn’t a state secret that Trump “is an enormous douche,” or that he isn’t a great President. And it’s not illegal to think those ideas. We don’t have ‘thought crimes’.
For the record, FBI agents are allowed to express their personal opinions in private and personally, which is what this was. Someone leaked them anyway.
Wonder where they got them from? ‘Cause you should be asking that question.
And there is no crime, and no scandal. The worst we get is that dishonest Republicans can use this as (baseless) fodder in their attacks against the FBI. Politically unfortunate, at least these days, but not wrong, not bad, not illegal, and not unethical.
Anyway, “…Obtained but the New York Times” and published just now. Big scoop!
Funny timing, though. Almost like a dirty trick. I wonder why they didn’t question that more.
