Hypocrisy and Republican Liars
I’ve written too much about Republican liars. I just deleted three drafts because even I was bored. We already know all that. What our interest? Tell us how Democrats can change the system into something better.

Come on! Who here is surprised? I finally saw a copy of Trump’s tax pamphlet. There’s even less there than the news reports imply. Almost all of it is campaign fluff: “Grow the economy and create millions of jobs.” What, by sheer force of will? “Provide tax relief to American families, especially middle-class families.” Kinda hoped he’d be more specific. “Simplify our burdensome tax...
More of the same. So far this week: Trump buses the entire Senate over to the White House for an extra-special, classified, North Korean briefing. Four people had to brief 100 people. And the Senate has a secure facility — a SCIF — that’s big enough for everyone, since they do this all the time. And yet Trump had a White House auditorium modified for...
And a good time was had by… um… well… the lunch lady looked kinda happy. Thankfully, Trump’s fancy Senate briefing on North Korea — the one that had me concerned yesterday — turned out to be just another empty publicity stunt. Thank god! I’m good with empty gestures. What scares the crap out of me are the real action that this President might take.
I know I’m going to wear out that headline. Trump’s recent Executive Order to ban federal funds from any ‘Sanctuary City’ failed a court review. Decisively. The judge graded it quite poorly. Nobody was especially surprised. Sure, Trump’s a dingleberry, but more to the point, he’s deeply incompetent git. He didn’t do his homework, and it shows. Congressional actions are called ‘laws’ for a reason....
What next? Frighteningly, this is not a rhetorical question. President Donald Trump is looking into another self-inflicted disaster. His reaction in the past is to do something horrid as a distraction. It’s worked well for him up until now, but the nature of manipulation means that each distraction has to be bigger than the last. So what’s going wrong for Trump this week? First —...
Kind of explains things. The Daily KOS has an article that I think is worth attention, but before I give you the link, I have to include a quick warning: it’s not really as rabid as it sounds. The title (and bear with me) is “Open thread for night owls: How to deal with a psychopath”. It’s not as bad as it sounds. Probably. First,...
Just in case someone was confused by my last post. Mar-A-Lago Gates As many sources have reported (was the Miami Herald first?), Trump met with two former Colombian presidents last weekend at Mar-A-Lago. They’d come to his club as members, or with another member. We don’t know how much Trump’s organization got, but Trump already said that anyone can purchase a membership at Mar-A-Lago. All...
