Last evening, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents raided homes and businesses.  While they didn’t release any information, ICE denied reports they were detaining 100 people. Their official spokesperson admitted the raids happened, but insisted they only targeted “individuals who pose a risk to our communities.” They admitted today that this wasn’t true. The New York Times reports that Michael Flynn was talking with the Russians starting well before the election.  The reports say that Flynn wasn’t directly promising that Trump would rescind Obama’s sanctions, but it was a clear implication. Late yesterday, there were rumors that Michael Flynn, who would become Trump’s National Security Adviser, contacted the Russians prior to Trump’s election to discuss sanctions. If true, he would have committed a crime. You may not negotiate for the US unless (and until) you’re the President.  That would have been undercutting the current administration. (more…)

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld the stay on Trump’s Muslim Travel Ban. They rejected the government’s arguments about why the President and his President Orders were above court review.
